Why, of all people, have organizers of “The Most Outstanding Filipino in Canada, America and Philippines” under the “Bb. Pilipinas of the World 2019” chosen Emily Bolanos as one of “The Most Outstanding Filipino in Canada, America and Philippines”? It may sound funny but that’s how it is labeled and called.
Filipino-Canadian entrepreneur Melchor (Mel) Galeon, the owner of FV Foods Bakery and Asian Cuisine, poses the question in an interview with The Filipino Web Channel on Monday, Sept. 2, 2019. FV Foods supplies high-quality sweets, bread, and pastries to more than 90 supermarkets and retail stores in the Greater Toronto Area. The company also caters private parties in addition to maintaining branches in the region.
Mel was shocked to learn from a Facebook posting and from his friends that out of the millions and millions of people in Canada, the US and the Philippines, Emily Bolanos got an award supposedly for being one of “The Most Outstanding Filipino in Canada, America and Philippines” on Sunday, Aug. 31, knowing she still had to settle some money problems with him at least. What gives?
Emily Bolanos also figured in another controversy that led to the shelving of a movie entitled “Living Instead”.
